India for Unity among Developing Countries

India recently hosted the first ever meeting of developing countries to evolve a common stand on issues debated in the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). India strongly urged the developing countries to stand together so as to ensure that international economic relations were not reshaped to their detriment at the end of the Uruguay Round.
